Drs. George and Lynette Zimmer
George Zimmer Ed. D. George is the Superintendent for the Richmond School District located in Sussex, WI. Previously, he served as the Superintendent for the Nippersink School District No. 2 and Richmond School District located in Richmond, Illinois. He also served as a middle school principal, elementary principal, and middle school math and English teacher.
Lynette Zimmer Ed.D. Lynette is the Superintendent at Prairie Grove School District 46 located in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Previously, Lynette served as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for the Fremont School District 79 located in Mundelein, Illinois. She also served as a K-3 principal, K-6 principal, a K-6 math specialist, and elementary teacher.
Lynette and George earned their doctoral degrees from Loyola University in Chicago. Both wrote their dissertations on various aspects of brain research and learning. They enjoy presenting nationally and locally to educators and parents about recent findings in educational neuroscience. Both George and Lynette serve as adjunct professors at several universities including Concordia College of Chicago, National Louis University and the University of St. Francis. They co-teach graduate courses both leadership and applications of brain research to classroom practice. Together they co-authored STAR: A Curriculum for Teaching Emotional Intelligence.
